About a year ago, I discovered this amazing band called Ne Obliviscaris. I can't remember how, possibly through trying to find Australian metal bands just to see what was happening back home. The briefest way to describe them would be prog metal, but with loads and loads of other influences (black / death / folkish / classical).

Then googling about their upcoming UK tour, I saw that they'd done a couple of AMAs on reddit, in which one of them, named 'Mort-uary' was asking if there were any QuakeWorld players out there! Of course there were none, but I was like.. hmm!

With a bit of e-stalking (aka using google) - I found this interview http://www.quakeworld.nu/news/128/mortuary-interview - in which mortuary, of 'Mortuality' fame (?) - mentions his band: Ne Obliviscaris!

You can see the man in action here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=urVipHSdLO0

They're touring Europe at the moment - a bunch of UK venues, Helsinki, Copenhagen, and supporting Enslaved on a bunch of Germany and France. Probably easiest to check out their facebook page: https://www.facebook.com/NeObliviscarisBand/

Really really highly recommended if you're at all into metal!
