Good work. It is always good to have more servers in locations that didn't exist before

I'm really sorry, but unfortunately no - at least for the time being.
I tried really hard to setup QTV but there were just too many issues:
  • map download doesn't work
  • not compatible with Arena
  • QTV http page showing "NOT CONNECTED" on all servers
  • couldn't add servers to http://qtv.quakeworld.nu/
  • it seems that QTV is not being maintained anymore (security concerns)
  • there is no documentation
  • apart from that, Fodquake still doesn't support QTV
I know it'd be really convenient to have QTV working as some people use it instead of a server browser

I understand that it might be tricky to setup if one hasn't done it before and if there's a lack of documentation. However, some of the issues above are only valid if QTV was the only way to spectate games but you could still keep normal spec slots open in case people want to download maps or spectate with Fodquake.

Afaik adding the QTV server to qtv.quakeworld.nu has to be done by an admin?

fodquake does support qtv, although it lacks interpolation. I think it's shift+enter in server browser, /qtvplay id@qtvserver:port should work too.

Thanks guys, do you know someone who might be able to help with these 3 issues?
  • map download via QTV
  • QTV page "NOT CONNECTED" error
  • Arena support

Heres a sample qtv.cfg which has to be placed into same directory with qtv binary:

mvdport 28000 // listen to this port
hostname My superior QTV // hostname for your QTV
admin_password MyAdminPassword // admin password for HTTP admin page
maxclients 100 // max number of clients to connect
maxservers 100 // max number of QTV streams
floodprot 4 2 2 // 4 msgs in 2 seconds with 2 seconds silence
allow_http 1 // allow the usage of HTTP page
demo_dir qtv/demos

allow_download_other 0 // allow downloading of stuff (1 allow, 0 do not allow)
allow_download_demos 0
allow_download_maps 0
allow_download_sounds 0
allow_download_models 0
allow_download_skins 0
allow_download 0

// qtv ip-address:port [password] (password is optional, add as many servers as you wish)
// Examples:
qtv qw.yourqwserver.com:27500 MyQTVpassword
qtv qw.otherqwserversomewhere.com:27501 OtherQTVpassword

The passwords used in the last two lines must match the value of MVDSV's qtv_password. The port used must match MVDSV's qtv_streamport value. If they don't you'll get the NOT CONNECTED error.
