yeah.. they scored once and they all rushed back on the goal line.. very nice played :/

lehmann should've let eto'o score, the game wouldn't have been lost.. you can't resist Barcelona only by defending

A point that almost everyone is missing is that even if he had allowed the goal, he might still have shown a red card. Lehmann denied Eto'o a clear goalscoring opportunity, which is a red card offence. You often see referees go back after an advantage is played to show a yellow card, and there's nothing in the rules to stop him from allowing the goal and still showing a red card to Lehmann.

There is an argument that the goalscoring opportunity was not denied to Barca, but it was certainly denied to Eto'o - I'm not sure exactly what the rules say regarding to whom the goalscoring opportunity is denied for it to be a red card offence.

Anyway it's very easy for us to say "he should have let the goal stand" - in that situation the referee was probably so nervous that he just wanted to signal for the foul immediately.

well I went on a football referee program to step 3 and its not in the rules that he can only give the yellow card and not the red but if your familiar to the game and have played it alot u know that the right decission should be giving the goal + giving the goalkeeper a yellow card!

It may be the "right" decision, but it would not be correct according to the rules! The referee would have been within his rights to send him off AND allow the goal - if he did that then it would be the rules to blame, not the ref.

some stuff in football is just comon sense!
there are lots of rules that are not on a paper for some1 to read, its not a american sport with all the rules listed on a blank paper.
its football.. lots of unwriten rules..
do u remember the game 4-6 years ago in PL, arsenal vs newcastle (?) were arsenal scored a goal when newcastle were trying to kick the ball out because they had an injured player?
Arsenal apoligized later on and they booked the game again and replaied it..
gotta go now, my ride is here..

Yeah i think so, for example in Russia we can watch only Premier League matches (2-3-lives in a week)+review and only 1 CL match in a week for free So a lot of people watch Premier League here and support english teams. Who wanna watch Spain, Germany, Italy, France, full CL, etc should pay for it like 25euro/month.
