How do i setup a quakeworld FFA server using the eQuake package? What server config file changes are required if i were to use the allround mod? The documentation that came with the ktpro in eQuakesv v1.0 build 501 is not really helpful. Been reading up everything I can get my hands on and nothing helped so far.

Any help is appreciated. Thx.

I can recommend FodFFA. It doesn't _require_ any setting up besides installing, it does have a few options you can change if you so desire, though, and it's made for FFA. It's running on quake.xs4all.nl if you want to see it live

FodFFA is rumoured to be pretty good

Although, it would probably benefit from providing a pre-compiled qwprogs.dat and allowing the admin passwords to be set in configs rather than embedded in the .qc. Whilst many people know how to open a unix-formatted 'README' and build from a Makefile, there are some that don't

Well, it gets the job done, at least

Hm, yes, thought about it, but who doesn't have a compiler? (it even includes qcc

I'll include a prebuilt binary in the next version.

Yes, that was pure lazyness on my part. The admin part was never really finished anyway (since apparently Flepser doesn't need it , so... Next version

Oh dear, is the linefeeds still a problem in Windows? If I pull the file out of the archive and put the file on my webspace, will Windows browsers be able to read it then?

well if you use a decent editor its no problem, but i'm just predicting the typical Windows-using admin double clicking README, whereupon it asks them to choose an application to open it with and they choose notepad which doesn't do unix endings

So, will it work better if I put the readme on my webspace and people can view it through their browser instead?

Maybe I could even do some fancy HTML thing

I recommend running KTX in matchless mode. Even though it is still in development it works fine, records demos, produces nice stats etc.

It could be nice if you server guys could put up different kind of servers, like yours could be more custom map obsessed and the other guy could roll exmx maps.

And give the info to the WONDERBOYS of quakeservers.net (and mayby make a FFA-server thread here somewhere)

I already set up a KTX server on ktx.quakeonline.net:27500 in match mode... I am just looking at different type of servers I could also run.
I am willing to set up another KTX in FFA, and maybe a third one for custom maps often played to change a bit...

I'm waiting for feedback on what you guys would use
