Hello,

I'm rather new to this, but I was wondering if anyone could help me to find the FQStart front end for FuhQuake. I found a link in one of the forums, but it wasn't working, and I'm having no luck finding it on the net. Also, could someone please tell me if there is a way to enable joystick support in FuhQuake using either the console, a front end, or a patch.

Thank you for any help.

Thank you for the info. I dowloaded eQuake, and installed it successfully, and now have a working front end. Now, if I could only figure out how to get the joystick working, I'd be set. Any help or suggestions offered would be appreciated.

try "joystick 1"

and...

joyadvancedupdate
This command initializes the joystick's advanced features. It is necessary to
issue this command after making any changes to the other joystick commands. This
command will initialize all of the settings.

Empezar,

I typed in the "joystick 1" command, and it accepted it, but when typing in the "joyadvancedupdate" command, the cosole just says "player 1: joyadvancedupdate". I'm not sure why I'm having so much trouble getting the joystick to work. It works fine when using regular WinQuake with QStart.

Any ideas, anyone?

you should give mouse+keyboard a try if you aren't using those yet...

Thank you for your suggestions, guys, but it would seem that I still have no joystick support. I tried using those commands in both e-Quake, as well as EZ-Quake, but no luck. I'm sure that I could get used to using the mouse and keyboard combination, and I hear good things about that control method, but I still miss my joystick. If anyone still has any ideas, I would be thankful.

Oh. I thought you were just looking to try it out, not use it seriously. No-one does. Mouse+keyboard >>>>>> joystick.

I'm also curious if anyone knows what servers are popular with active players. Please let me know, and maybe we can hook up sometime.

Thanks,

Empezar ,

Thank you for that link - I've ben playing all afternoon. Awesome!

A quick question for anyone: When I exit out of quake, it doesn't save my settings (controls and fps options). Even though I went in and also changed them manually in the config file. Any ideas?

save it with "cfg_save snoopie"
then put "+cfg_load snoopie" in your cmd line or just write cfg_load snoopie in quake and its fixed, thats if u got ez/fuh-quake
