hi, im new to quakeworld/cpma (played quakelive before) which i just got a few days ago,

i have a problem playing online, its really spiking alot / not having very much fps when i play. however, when im dead and im spectating others, the game runs completely fluent without any problems. i guess it has to do sth with my mouse, because if i plug it out while being still alive/playing and walking around with WASD, most of the spikes are gone.

its a new mouse and i can switch from 1000Hz to 125Hz. Weirdly, playing with 1000Hz the game often doesnt recognise i pressed 'shoot' and sometimes it will keep firing even though i clicked only once. the shooting will stop if i click another time.

can you help me? thx!

CPMA is a mod for Quake 3 Arena. QuakeWorld has nothing to do with neither of those. You seem to be on a wrong forum.

Do you have lag spikes with the mouse at 125 Hz?

If you're actually talking about quake 3, then this was a common problem with the program spazzing out when it's sent too much information. Switch it to in_mouse 3 if you're using a version which supports it, or in_mouse 1 (I think) if not. It is possible that you will lose support for some of your extra buttons.
