make fquake install menu.cfg in the id1 folder. appearently qizmo execs this by default if its there. would be good if qtv could use it too.

menu.cfg includes
bind uparrow "say proxy:menu up"
bind downarrow "say proxy:menu down"
bind leftarrow "say proxy:menu left"
bind rightarrow "say proxy:menu right"
bind enter "say proxy:menu select"
bind del "say proxy:menu delete"
bind home "say proxy:menu home"
bind end "say proxy:menu end"
bind pgup "say proxy:menu pgup"
bind pgdn "say proxy:menu pgdn"
bind backspace "say proxy:menu back"
bind ins "say proxy:menu help"
bind pause "say proxy:menu"

by the way: in the "Spectating a big game" section of the Getting Started page, the picture has Follow tab selected instead of Observe

[02:55] @qqshka|Earth | qizmo exec proxyautoexec.cfg
[02:56] @qqshka|Earth | just rename menu.cfg to proxyautoexec.cfg

Yes, it's much easier to Follow someone speccing a cam, than Observing the actual cam, when there are 60 clients on a qizmo

come to think of it

qizmo executes the ALIAS proxyautoexec

and fquake configs have "alias proxyautoexec say .menu binds"

this makes this whole menu.cfg/proxyautoexec.cfg kind of useless!

[16:46:44] <|Mushi> in suggestions/Testers
[16:46:52] <|Mushi> Coinz is portuguese

please don't write this stuff to me on irc, i don't have access to the fquake website all the time so i can't remember stuff you tell me on irc, and stuff won't get fixed if you do.

Yeah, configured my cfg ages ago. I have this magic alias proxyautoexec somewhere in cfg. So again I was wrong, sorry

some packages were packed badly and that resulted in unusable fquake installations

fQuake v1.5 BETA can now be downloaded

here's the changelog:

* Setup now capable of downloading from FTP mirrors.
* Setup now displays initialization process.
* Setup now checks if there are any newer versions of the installer available.
* Setup now checks if the local distfiles are up to date.
* Setup now removes old backuped Quake files during uninstallation.
* Setup no longer downloads changelog.txt.
* Setup now correctly removes only the _downloaded_ distfiles when installation is complete.
* Added packages MRQW, QME, Quake Army Knife, and Quake Scene Builder.
* ASE is no longer part of the recommended installation.
* Removed the Buy Quake (Download) link (needed the extra space).

I don't have the guts to release this many changes without beta testing them

fQuake seems to display the wrong icon quite often in add/remove programs

I'll look into fixing that bug.

Anders (NSIS Forums) wrote:
if you dont provide a DisplayIcon string with full path to .exe or .ico windows will guess what the right icon is

this is why you got the ASE icon.
