I have some problems with bad looking hud elements and crosshairs in ezQuake 2.1 alpha (build 3143) Wind32:GL

In previous versions of the client, crosshair 4 looks like a pixel square but for some reason this client makes the square in to a blurry dot.

Also my hud_gun elements shows parts of a white border around the picture. Please check my screenshot at: http://hem.bredband.net/b206185/ezquake008.jpg

Does anyone know how to make it look good again?

this should fix the white lines around some of the hud elements.

It's also a good idea to make vid_conwidth and vid_conheight a multiple of vid_mode. In your case you use 1920x1080 (vid_mode 12). I would, if I were you, then use 1920/3 = 640 for conwidth and 1080/3 = 360 for conheight to make the chars and crosshairs scale as good as possible with your actual resolution.

Heddan: nothing else than being able to use a wider range of /crosshairsize without the crosshair getting distorted, and that the chars don't look distorted either. *** edit: same if you're on 16:10 ratio, f.ex 1680x1050 on the samsung 2233rz. Then conwidth 560 and conheight 350 is by far the best setting I've had for those in terms of chars and crosshairs looking good. Especially custom crosshairs are alot easier to get too look good.

Rikoll: I agree with you that in terms of customised as well as round crosshairs a 1:3 ratio would be to prefer when it comes to aspect ratios and scaling.. Though, since I use a square pixel, in my case it doesn't matter much. My consern is that an unprecise ratio of the scaling for instance 3,333333.... would affect the monitor/graphic performance since most other things in quake (mouse-hz screen-hz fps etc.) gives the smoothest experience once they are matched up in an exact ratio 1:3 1:2 etc.
