Strange there is nothing on this on the mainpage
Got a lot off views on youtube already just being posted some days ago

"Quake done 100% Quickest is a 100% completion speedrun of Quake on Nightmare skill, going through the levels as fast as possible, killing every single monster and finding every single secret in every single map. The speedrun was performed by members of the Quake done Quick team and this movie was put together by Jozsef "j0zzz" Szalontai. This is the sequel to the very popular and outdated 'Quake done 100% Quicker' which was released way back on the 5th of January, 2000. Speedrunning has come a looong way since then!"

Kinda funny all the post on youtube etc that claim they must use aimbot etc

liked this comment on reddit:
Why Quake 1 is better than 95% of all modern FPS games:

1. speed. It's a fuckin' adrenalin hayride we used to expect before consoles ruined FPSs (with notable exceptions like Painkiller and Serious Sam). This is one reason the speed run looks so impressive in retrospect. FPS Games have slowed to a crawl.
2. weapons. simple, brutal, effective. nailgun? hells yeah. Gimme Quake's arsenal over 17 kinds of SMG and pistol any day
3. Challenge. Whoever came up with the idea the guy that lobs 'nades needs to also swing a chainsaw was brilliant. the speed part makes this extra fun.
4. zombies that revive and throw pieces of themselves at you. 'nough said.
5. Trent Reznor soundtrack. Overwhelming majority of FPS games have shit music.
6. Unapologetically mature. Gorey, violent, and satanic without giving a shit about the ESRB.

Man, that's a work of beauty. Everything so optimized, no wasted ammo or movement, exact right weapon for that situation considering the ammo you need later. Running through maps with 1h.

Loving it, much more than just the speedruns.

ceck out the esreality post for links to movie files, the 720p @ 60fps is pry great, will be a 1080p @ 60 fps version availabe later acording to the own-age post.
Yet to see the hole movie, but so many great moments, insane quadpent runs, the moment where a grenade goes off after he exit the level to kill the last enemy etc

My favourite run on this is e4m7 (49:34). Well worth a second look, this guy has 'nicer' movement than a lot of the other demos, his run just seems to flow very nicely, use of different jumping styles to line up shots. Looks pretty optimised to me in terms of him keeping the pace up and not getting delayed in fights, will be tough to beat that 1:27 I think.

That's Alex Osipov, his only run in that set. It's consider "unbeatable" (He has e4m7 start-from-scratch run also, as you can see, his only id sp run still unbeaten. He pretty much ran and owned e4m7 from 1999 to 2007)

The name looks Russian but I think he's one of those Russian Finns

This is wonderful Shikari. Can you also upload the full speed run of all of Quake with the fastest time? I remember that was very enjoyable to watch as well!

P.S. -- can we get a news update about this?

I thought that name was familiar! If this really is Sidd it should be the same Sidd who got 2nd place in the non-profy tourney in the first qhlan I went to, I think...

I have to agree, Q1 was always my favorite. I still have yet to see an FPS come close to the speed and responsiveness of it.
