A random question on this sunday afternoon;

When i have several network drives mapped in Windows XP it takes a shitload of time to even open "My Computer" sometimes as it seems to start searching for the drives i have mapped even when i'm on another network. Is there some way to disable this, so it actually doesn't try to connect to them until i want to do it?

Hmm, I dont know if it helps, but under something like "Map and folder settings", there is a checkbox with something like "Automatically scan for network drives and printers" or something, try unchecking it and see if it does any difference. I know it removed some delay for me when i was on win.

Tss, saves a lot of precious work time Megalodon, sometimes i end up with my computer locked for 20 minutes when i have 20 drives mapped which XP can't find.

I'm yet to see if this makes a difference, but it feels like it has, thanks for the tip!
