Well I found out that NA is gone forever. They wouldn't upgrade him from Redhat 8 to a supported version. He couldn't compile newer software because of the c libraries didn't exist for Redhat 8. They ignored him for 6+ months and finally gave him a less than helpful response. So basically he stopped paying the bill because they screwed him over...

I'd like to thank Degy & Zeek to keep the servers up for so long. It's amazing they kept it since around 2001 or so.

Thanks for the frags!

Sad to hear that it's gone!
I've played there a lot over the years even though I'm from Sweden.
I will check out your server instead Darin, one suggestion though replace ztndm4 with ztndm5

ztndm5 is a great map, I will take that into consideration .

On that note, I moved the servers to Chicago.

Different IP but you can still conect with the quake-legion.net name.

quake-legion.net:2700 ffa
quake-legion.net:27501 ktx1
quake-legion.net:27502: ktx2
quake-legion.net::27505 cace

Servers are on the global list and quakeservers.net.

Visit www.quake-legion.net for info and rules (sorry about my poor html skills).

Any idea on how to get it to show up on the server browser in ezQuake? I got on the server and went into the multiplayer menu but it's not showing up on the list of servers with people on it.

There's an FFA server on http://qw.quakephil.com

As well as Clan Arena and some DM ports for the DM noobs

Fast pipe too, upgrades fairly regular (since I have control of the box) restarts daily for stability

Phil, Yeah it is a fast pipe. I ping about 30ms there and I live in the smallest province of Canada =).

One thing I've always noticed is that I usually get a small amount of constant pl there, I believe it must be my routing to the server or something.

Haven't noticed anyone else having problems, mine is always the same yet the pl is so low it really doesn't make a difference for me.

Thanks for keeping your servers up .

Right on Phil! Nice little setup you have there.

One suggestion, the QTV client defaults are kinda under configured.
I mean, it default with realtime shadow, which look cool and run fine, but
I wasnt a spectator by default, I had no bound keys, barely could see the menu etc...

Basically QTV installs FTE in my internet CACHE so I have nothing ready...

But hey, the servers look good and run good!
Thanks for providing the Quake scene with another great place to play!

Not quite sure what is wrong with QTV... I'm able to click "watch now" and it makes me "watching now" and isn't that all QTV is supposed to do?

As for PL - not sure. Every now and then, I may do various personal compiles or other realtime cpu usage, but I have tested these with 100% cpu load, and it doesn't seem to affect my laptop connected to the qw ports which is still running around without a hitch at 13ms.

Had to shut quake-legion.net down, too expensive and right now I'm on a tight budget.

More people are using Phil's server which is great!!!!

Glad there is at least 1 good/fast FFA server in NA left.
