of course you can, either host a game within the client or even better host a dedicated server (mvdsv + ktx)

domnload files from http://qw-dev.net/projects/show/mvdsv and start the fragging =)

so can i get like a step by step? i know im retarded do you need to enter a command or is this easily done via gui?

i tried to create under multiplayer and apparently i dont have the right maps...

first you must install mdsv (can be windows), then start it (console application), and you can use rcon to crontrol it.

Running the game via menu will always attempt to start the game in map "dm4", you need to have pak1.pak from original Quake game in your id1 dir for that to work.

As an alternative, just type
/map ztndm3

into the console, also /map e1m2 should work, nQuake contains these maps.
