Hello. I've been working on hi-res monster skins since September. I have released a pack already, but now I'm trying to make faithful remakes of the monster skins. Take a look at some pictures:
From the first pack

Hope you like them. They work in any client supporting 24-bit tga. They don't use normal maps, so they look the same in any client.

I think your monster skins are the most faithful out there, Fragger. I can't wait to see all of them complete.

Get some pictures up of your new Knight! I think he is by far the most faithful, and probably your best work yet. That Ogre is also your older version, right?

Here's the new knight:

The ogre's an in-between version (already has the new chainsaw but the eyes were not fixed yet)

Their pack and mine are as different as Curly and Shemp.

And I think it's best that it stays this way! The Quake Reforged Project has more modernesque "Doom3/Quake4" style skins, while Fragger's pack has more faithful remakes. I'm sure I'll be using some of the Quake Reforged skins for fun every now and then, but I'm pretty sure Fragger's skins will replace the originals more permanently due to their faithfulness.

From a technical point of view, the "Reforged" skins are great. From a purist one, they're not. I want people to be able to say "Hey, that's 'Quake'!" when they look at the screen, even if they're not hard-core fans of the game. "Quake" has a very distinct art style and I'm trying to preserve that. The game's personality.
Think about this:
Duke Nukem looking like Brad Pitt, no shades, a pencil-thin goatee and wearing a baseball cap. Is that really Duke?

These new skins are being released as they appear in the game, so it shouldn't be hard to guess which one's next. So far I have the grunt, rottweiler and ogre available for download, so it's the knight's turn. I have a link to my site in my sig, so you can go, take a look and download the skins if you want.
