Still Benq is the best for qw.
But you will need a second monitor if you like IPS panels.

Personally, I use benq xl2410t for qw only and HP LP2475W for the rest things.
With best wishes, B1aze.

theres no good IPS panel for hardcore fps-games. they dont support higher hz yet...you will need a 120hz monitor for a CRT-like smooth QW. LG W2363D (i recently suggested this one to reppie and his first reaction was very positive) , BenQ xl2410t and Asus VG236HE are all good choices imo.
having said that, i recently got the Dell U2311H and it literally opened my eyes on monitors. the colors are so MUCH BETTER than anyhting i had before. its quite good for "normal" games aswell. there was no real tearing or "lag" visible with my QW-sensitive eyes .ive tested it with Brink, The Witcher 2 and Starcraft. its just not good enough for QW.

Great replies!

i didn't explained myself properly in my last post. i already knew that IPS panels arent good for games. I was asking just to make sure, as i've read that U2311H behaved nicely in games (for an IPS).
Anyway, spoink answered my question:

not good enough for qw. ill prolly buy one of each, making me happy. =)

other questions: i like to keep an eye on whats coming next. do you know what month the next year models will start to unveil? and approximate release month?
also: dell u2311h is 2010 model. is there a 2011 model?

thx!

Does the LG require you to play QW at HD res or does it support lower res as well?

i received my lg w2363d yesterday and im happy with it.
its not perfect, but for the price i can say its a bargain (200€)

cons:
* no height adjustement (gahh)
* buttons are horrible and impossible to use in a dark room
* im not used to 16:9, kinda bad feeling in desktop environment
* plastics look cheap

pros:
* decent color accuracy after "calibrating" (using other ppl calibrated settings)
* smoothness. 120hz on 1980*1080 is great, great feeling for movies, desktop work, games.

if u buy one, don't forget to enable THRU mode (its disabled by default). It removes input lag.

I wanted a monitor for games (although i dont play alot these days) and the w2363 fills that. its not perfect, but i wanted a cheap monitor, therefore this was a perfect buy for me. im convinced that i can sell it for a decent price in a few years too.

I've just bought this LG 32LE4600 I'm still waiting it to be delivered. I will use it as my pc monitor as well.
Main features that interested me were: 32", fullHD, LED, IPS, 120HZ, delay 2.4ms, 2000000:1 contrast
The price is very attractive. Hope I like it.

couldnt find that model outside latin america. it probably has other name on the rest of the world.
anyway, for less than 700€, IPS and 120hz looks like a bargain...
plz come back to review it =)

It is interpolated 120Hz, not the real deal as computer monitors. And it will most likely suffer from horrendous input lag due to image processing TVs do.

I have changed my Samsung 2233RZ display to a LG W2363D display, needed the extra HDMI port. Except the full HD resolution I have not noticed significant difference between the TFTs. Maybe the LG is smoother a little bit, but it is irrelevant.

In my opinion:
the colors are terrible, after calibration it gets better, but far from perfect
the brightness and contrast is awesome, but in the edges of the screen is a lot lighter
menu and buttons just simply suck.... idiot designer forgot to test them... almost impossible to use 'em
the extra led lightning below the screen is a joke... like the cars in the movie "fast and furious"
Speed of the TFT is gr8 w/ THRU mode, eliminates the input lag
I like the the jack headphone out, easier to plug my headphone in
The samsung looked better, the shape and the plastik of the LG looks cheap a little bit

altogether is a good display for qw and for games, and has 2 extra hdmi outs as well.
/say_team $R fuck yeah!

EXACTLY! Luckily I've discovered that soon enough reading this article http://www.overclock.net/monitors-displays/662628-60hz-vs-120hz-explained.html ! I've already imediatelly canceled the purchase. Now I got a real monitor with real 120hz 3d. It's even in the nvidia 3d vision list page. Monitor Led 3D 23.6 W BenQ XL2410T WideScreen 120 Hertz I'm looking forward to see it working!

Renzo did a review of that monitor in one of his blog entries.

I personally didn't buy that one because of the price. xl2410T cost 350€, while the lg w2363d cost 200€, too much of a price difference for little change.

First ips-panel running 120hz!

"We're currently talking to the manufacturer and it looks like we've been able to convince them to make another limited production run of the version that can be overclocked. ? Stay tuned to my channel for more info.

I think zero managed to OC it a little bit, I haven't touched the OC yet, but my card is like GTX460 and from the looks of comments you need pretty powerful card just yo OC to 85-100.

I picked up the XL2420T based upon the positive responses about the XL2410T on this forum, as well as this extremely in depth review: http://www.tftcentral.co.uk/reviews/benq_xl2420t.htm

Does anyone that also own the XL2420T have any recommended settings?

Interesting point, I realized how horrible my old Acer LCD was. The biggest knock on this monitor was colors and viewing angle, but this smashes what I was using. Of course IPS panels that excel in those areas are not going to be beat, but for me the monitor was an upgrade in every way possible.

Huvudnumret är en TN-panel med uppdateringsfrekvensen 144 Hz och endast en millisekunds responstid – nytt rekord i klassen.

BS marketing. BenQ released XL2411T a long time ago, which already has this magical "new record" 1ms response time. Obviously BenQ uses only 120Hz panel. You also have to realize that these manufacturer claimed response times are typically half what they have been measured, so 2ms "G2G" panels have more like ~5ms response time on average. A well controlled OD is more important than ultra low response time with significant OD overshoot (everyone with BenQ XL2410T/2420T should know this).
