i have noticed a major fps-difference in newer Ezquake-klients, i've made a comparison here below (The oldest clients first)
its the same config in all the quakes, the only differences i'm aware of is the wad-dir,bmodels and the the ezquake pak0.pak

any ideas what causing the fps-drop between clients?
i have allready tried the simple bmodels in the newer klients but not affecting the fps much.

Like you said, it seems like the only differences are that you're using 24-bit textures in the middle pic and higher-poly-count models in the last one, but that shouldn't account for almost 1,000 fps. If it's not a serious client compatibility issue it's probably due to whatever's clogging up your /qw/ folder. You can remove most of those textures, models and paks temporarily if you want to see if they'll help with your framerate.

However, you don't need that much fps, and you should probably have it capped at a reasonable value, which depends on your monitor refresh rate. Have a read of Renzo's excellent blog on the subject and adjust your config accordingly before you go rooting around deleting the nquake eye-candy.

Theres a bug rendering text in version after 1.8.3, change to a high conres and pull down the console and watch it lose 1000fps.

yeah Stev, in this shots i'm using the same "qw/textures" directory except bmodels and wad, so all the map-texturefiles placed in Textures root i have removed during this comparison.
Well i dont have a problem with the fps anyway during gaming, but i think its weird that the newer ezquakes dont measure up with the old ones.
i'm gonna try one thing, replacing the nquakes ezquake-dir with an older one and se if there's any differences.

and Runamok.foe i have noticed that fps-change aswell in console-mode.
