Thanks for your interest.

The site is pretty cool. I like the glows and the disposition of menus. Shows a good taste and it means that you put yourself very much into this.
My congratulations.

-=- Player and unnamed shouldn't be on the list.

Personally I prefer the display of float values with a unitary number of digits of the fragments. It is far more readable imo:

1.96774
0.959335

should be

1.96774
0.95933

or

1.96774
0.95934

if you think that digit is worth rounding.

[1] 'Player' and 'Unnamed' removed from lists now.
[2] Interchange of Time and Frags for Sorting on ServerLists and Map Lists has been fixed.
[3] Under Player Profile: 'Last match played' being fixed. Displays correct last Team A/Team B most of the time
[4] Rounding of rankings. Will look into this over the next few days. Might round down to 3 decimal places.

Thanks for the bug reports.

Very nice site! Thank you very much. However. Seems you're cheating with your service. It says i played 2on2 2009-02-09 which i did'nt.

And what nick would you be talking about raket? As I dont see the nick 'raket' in the database. If there is a bug with the site I would hardly call it cheating. If however you are referreing to someone fake nicking as you on a server then that has noting to do with the site. The site merely reports what games were played. Just like in EQL and other leagues, people will fake nick. Very little any of us can do. But im guessing you knew that anyway

Imo the possibility of ranking lists for 1on1,2on2,4on4 etc. should be seriously pondered. This would need loads of work in authentication, the ranking system and so on but I think it could be worth it. Now it seems to be just a "fun" feature(?) In my experience it's surprising how many care about their ratings and such.

ill just cut the post short and try to list some of the potential benefits.

-easier match making
-more high quality games
-boost in activity
-more competition

There are of course negative things depending on the implementation or it could be a total failure and just fade into oblivion. But it is something to consider!

Thanks for the post hafogg. I think this has been considered and it might happen if people have the energy for it.
I'm not sure many people would want it. By the way If enough people want the current rankings disabled then thats fine with me.
The site shows what can be done and is just a start. The rankings on the site cant be fully relied on as their is no authentication system between qw clients and servers. But as they are they can provide a rough indicator over time as to opponents that might match you skill level.

IMHO the problem with accurate stats is that some people will just become stat-whores - only playing easy matches and rage quiting when they start to get owned.

That, and a lot of people just like to play +forward and for fun when not in tourney matches. If you make every match part of a ranking competition then you'll sap a lot of enjoyment out of the game for those people.

make the searchengine less exact.
for example riosat1y == RIOSAT1Y
or rio should result in RIOSAT1Y and rioDejanerio and RiOBraVo

tell me if you think im wrong

SELECT * FROM matches WHERE matches.player LIKE rio%

Ah ok, nice. That will do enough
Then you only need to implement something like that on the search clan thingie.
" :V:" results correctly
":V:" does not
"V" does not
":V" does not
etc

I would like to suggest adding an option to search by date.
I also want to know if its possible to add an option to save stats for a specific period, preferably using an easy format like CSV (I'm no database guru but CSV seems like a good system).

This really isn't a feature request for the website, because the "upload" part needs to be done somewhere outside the site (obviously). The results collecting mechanism cannot be used for this. Unless of course KTX/MVDSV gets modified.

Dear B1aze,
I used my private connections to reach Admins and I have just talked to them. The stats ARE down because turning it on would caUse Quakeworld death.

Stats.qw.nu is a great website and a lot of players really enjoyed it.
If it is true that the site is down on purpose, I would like to get a copy of it and host it on my own hosting.
With best wishes, B1aze.

Don't believe everything you read, especially if someone like "SRRYSIEK", who has registered today to the site and the reply itself is anything but informative or believable. Uh-oh the "private connections", for real, most likely a spam bot.
