Hi guys,

i'll try to explain my problem i have downloaded and installed latest Omegadrivers 4.8.442 (which are modified versions of the latest Catalyst drivers) and then installed nQuake. When i try to start EzQuake it say to me the infamous message:

GLW_OpenGL Could not load OpenGL subsystem

I have tried to reinstall these drivers. Nothing.

I have tried to run normal GLQUAKE. It doesn't work properly.

I have tried a little OPENGL utility that shows me if OpenGL is working properly. It WORKED!!!

Don't suggest me to install official drivers: they just suck for my laptop (i can't install them because ATI is not
responsible for damaging laptops... it's responsibility of the laptop's manufacturer to release drivers bla bla bla)

and they always worked great for me with any game... OpenGL or Direct3D (Doom3, Half-Life 2 runs just fine)
because they are little modded versions of the latest original Catalyst fucked drivers i can't install on my laptop.

My system specs:

Pentium 4 3.06 Ghz HyperThreading
512 MB
Mobility Radeon 9700 64 MB AGP 8X
Windows XP SP2 Home

Thank a lot for any suggestion

Those are latest Omegadrivers but not even close to latest ATI drivers. I'm not suggesting you to use them but you have a wrong title in your topic. Latest Omegadrivers are based on Catalyst 7.12 but latest Catalyst is 8.2.

Btw, check this. http://www.driverheaven.net/modtool/

which ezquake version?

Probably you have vid_mode variable set to some huge value.

I always move my cfgs elsewhere and run the game defaulted when I have issues like this. At least that way you can see whether its the game or the driver.

There was absolutely no reason to resurrect this two year old dead thread. People will surely notice ONE thread about that wrapper.
