Do you play any non-fps games?
I confess i havent played many games since i started playing quake in 1997. But lately ive been playing some web based games - really nice - multiplayer

Among them, my favourite is Hattrick (football manager game) which is really addictive.
The Crims is ok....
There are so many nowadays... i only play hattrick, but some of my friends are playing travian.

Tetrinet was awesome very nice to play vs friends

What do you like to play besides quake?
never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

I've played a fair bit of Championship manager (only singleplayer though and not that uber serious). Total Annihilation (1997, the EQL site was originally intended to be something dedicated to this game ) and its sequel Supreme Commander (2007) are also two games that i've played quite a bit. The latter title also has an expansion pack that i haven't tried yet, which is probably quite good. Frets on fire (guitar hero clone where you play with your keyboard, holding it like a guitar) is a good game if you just want to waste some time and have a laugh.

Currently playing The Whitcher(crpg). I play new games all the time. My next games will be fps games tho:gears of war, call of duty 4 and Crysis. After those it's time for Neverwinter Nights 2:Mask of the Betrayer.

I do play frets on fire frequently during parties and will soon get to play guitar hero 3. Not just while being sober.

ps. The first post wasn't quite clear. Header tells about non-fps games and you are asking a question 'What do you like to play besides quake?' which would include fps games also, just not quake.

I bought this game not long ago http://rfactor.net/

It is a racing simulation with many new mods, cars, tracks etc. released by the community. I haven't played it online yet but apparently it is very good. I'm mostly doing hotlaps in BMW Sauber 2007

Oh, and if we're not only talking about PC games, then i can really recommend the Metal Gear Series (1-3 at least) on PSX/PS2. The Resident Evil series is also very good of course, but i bet more people tried those games.

I have played mgs 1 and 2, and also resident evil 4 on PC. I recommend them also. There are also more RE games on pc(all of them?) but haven't tried rest of them.

And yes, silent hill is pretty boring.

crysis and cod4 was very entertaining. but other then singleplayer fps: nintendo 8bit icehockey is played from time to time, dynablaster/bomberman, and trying to finnish ufo2 xcom when got extra time thinking of going thru anotherworld again, but wouldent mind if they did a remake before i get to it
i also play samp (gta sa online) some times to do driveby shootings with an irl friend. pretty fun, but sometimes frustrating with alot of bugs, know it all teenagers and triggerhappy admins.
would love to play "new" heroes of might and magic, turnbased for the win. but i wont play that until i break a leg or something, its soo timeconsuming. (same as with xcom)

heroes of might and magic 2 is the best, just because i fell in love when i first played it. homm4 is extremely nice with its nice music and the possibility to actually use the hero and develop him/her/them. also final fantasies 7 and 9 rule, haven't tried any newer ones nor 8 since the cd's are broken or something. and of course lucas arts adventure games, such as monkey islands, full throttle, dott, sam and max and many more. and lets say the incredible machine 2, just because i've only tried tim1 like 12 years ago and cant remember anything from it

nice reply's

i read some ppl mentioned old games - that wasn't the purpose of this thread but i can mention sooo many games i used to play (got my 1st pc in 1991) like:
xcom1 (tryed 2 but no patience, 3 and 4 less patience) it was really entertaining, all lucasarts adventure games, leisure suit larry, beneath a steel sky, dott, sam and max, strike commander, desert strike, wing commander, xwing, cool spot, jazz jackrabbit, abuse, dune 1 and 2, motorhead, gp1, gp2, warcraft 1, 4d sports driving and boxing, stunts, king quest series, gabriel knight 1 (a must!), micromachines, death rally, offroad, wolf3d 1 and 2, gods, altered beast, arkanoid, lemmings, creature shock , theme park, railroad tycool, simcity 1 and 2000, space quest series, cannon fodder, sensible soccer and swos (still playing online!), duke nukem, test drive 1,2 3, quarantine, etc..............

all these games were special to me, and many more...

and of course spectrum games, which were very cool and entertaining for the time

but I really wanted to know games that ppl play today!

most recently ive been playing supcom (like ake) in fact thats my first rts that ive played online. c&c3 is nice too (but after supcom, it pales in comparison...) warhammer4k is a nice c&c clone (but the new build-less warhammer really blows)

i'm also into racing game, i even got a logitech g25 wheel for it -- rfactor, busdriver (eheheh), gtr2 (first real racing title not counting indy 500 and quarantine back in the 90s...), and gt legends, but most of all LFS (with bf2/oval my favorite mode), oh and test drive unlimited (unfortunately not as realistic as i expected it to be)

then theres the flight sims. for this i have my rlyawexxxome hotas setup, with trackir :X its hot!!! ms flight sim 2k4, falcon, lockon, but as you all remember, it all started with keyboard/fa-18 interceptor (1980s...) the m$flightsim has a bunch of military jet expansion packs :>

i never got into the wow shit, but theres one rpg thats pretty nice -- thats oblivion. used to play that a lot.

oh yeeh then theres simcities... from simcity classic, then simtower, but my favorite is simcity 4. 2k and 3 were nice, but 4 is the best, with the huge spaces and pretty realistic simulation

oh yes. now that i got a new phone, i downloaded tetris for it and even though i remember tetris as The First Game i ever played, back then i never got into it... it was so boring... but now i find myself playing it and being immersed -- weird!!! it seems so easy but its actually so hard.
