For Tonik: Getting stuck on a wall on e3m1, Linux 1.8.3.
http://shub-hub.com/files/demos_quakeworld/e3m1_wallhug.zip

Also i noticed that some brushes (of triggers/funcs) have a small black border (linux, 1.8.3, nvidia). That might be on my end though. I did not notice it with 1.8.2. It is visible at start.bsp in the episode selection room for the hidden door to end.bsp (in SP when that door is closed of course).

I can't get nQuake 1.8 to work on my Mac OS X 10.4 (Tiger).
I downloaded EZQuake from somewhere on this page but it's 1.5, the old version.
All the graphics are old as well, they just don't look like EZQuake on PC. My EZQuake on Mac just looks like the original Quake with the old menu, old gfx, etc. Will this change if I upgrade it to 1.8?

I downloaded that 1.8 file from www.nquake.com but I really can't figure it out, with the Terminal codes etc.

Somebody help me please!!

You can get ezQuake 1.8.3 for Mac OS X from http://ezquake.sourceforge.net/ which is the official ezQuake website. I'm no Mac user so i can't really give any thorough advices.

nQuake is a script that downloads required files from the net - isn't it? I'm sure there is a README or documentation what you have to do (most likely you will have to open a terminal window and start the script). However the nice graphics are in JPG format which are not supported in EZQuake 1.8 on Mac. This will hopefully change with the upcomming 1.9 version.

Ahhh, alright. So everyone playing EZQuake on a Mac has the same gfx as me?
I read that Readme and tried to do it in Terminal, but for some reason it gives me errors. Is it only designed to work on Leopard?

If you have no additional textures you will have the look of quake as of 1996 when it was released. I think you can load additional textures on PNG and TGA format. Actually I don't know for sure as I try to avoid extra textures as much as possible because of my low computer specification. nQuake however uses mostly JPG textures (afaik) which are not possible on MAc currently.

Actually just as you mentioned it: I had problems linking version 1.8.3 against the tiger SDK and i had to use the leopard SDK instead. So maybe there are indeed problems running the latest version with tiger. I could not test it myself as i don't have any tiger machine around. Try reverting back to the 1.8.1 version which should work fine with tiger.

Things will be a lot nicer on mac with 1.9..

1.8.1 works fine on tiger and so does the 1.9 alpha that nquake downloads.

yeah, i'm waiting for 1.9 too. I've just back to QW after about half year break (mainly because wsw 0.4/0.41 is almost unplayable on my pc while there were no problems with 0.32, and finally i've replaced ATI card with NVIDIA one), and i was already impressed with latest ezQ, so many cool things, and 1.9 sounds even better (especially built-in sg script!).

Man, i've just realized how i missed QW gameplay...

Almost unplayable, because I CAN play it in 640x480 with everything at lowest possible detail, picmip 16, every eyecandy off and max fps 30, gl_nearest_mipmap_nearest, when there is max two players on the screen But i won't, it hurts my eyes. And 3 players ffa isn't my favourtie gamemode anyway ;D

It reminds me something - QW was unplayable on my radeon 9100 128mb while it runs smooth on GeForce 2MX 64 mb. It was the game that didn't like my ATI card. Now i have GeForce FX 5700 (i know this card isn't something special but i bought it from a friend for about 10 euros so i won't whine ) and latest ezQ runs brilliantly. I hope 1.9 will do the same
