Ok, many of you may have heard of this map called spinev2.bsp ! It was made by the legendary Headshot, who is one of the most famous Q1 mappers of all time (no joke). Anyway, I want to take this lovely map and update it for 1on1 play in 2006! ¡VIVA EL QUAKEWORLD!

Right. So..

Headshot emailed me back the map source files, so I can edit whatever the f*** I want to. So, the question is, what should I edit??

So far, I have decided to lower the number of rockets and cells. Initially there were 6 small packs of rockets for a total of 30, and 4 small packs of cells. I'm thinking to make this 2-3 packs of rockets and 2-3 packs of cells. OMG -- strategy finally. So what else should I do? Put a GA up on that weird little elevator camping area? Remove SNG from middle of hallway?


GIVE ME SUGGESTIONS. WITH DETAIL. THANKS <3 <3 <3

why does no one play this map?
maybe find that out, then make adjustments.

one thought, this map doesn't have any shells and crap in the middle of halls that u have to dodge to be stealthy. maybe experiment with some of those? i'm not sure if tht would make it better or not.

but its a pretty solid map as is, a new version could be really cool tho.

I agree. Hence, the reason why I made this thread!

So people, why don't you play it already? Too EZ to control both RA and YA? or what? Too much ammo? TALK TO ME HERE

the map have to many teleports :| the teleport to Ra is pure shit... i dont like this map much honestly...

wow, this is a quite a challenge updating this map.

need more feedback people!!!!

please comment on what you think is wrong with this map.

map too small?
not enough spawns?
teles too annoying?
too much ammo?
useless upper room?
ra too powerful?
too easy to get spawn frags?
lack of "weak spots" hurts gameplay?

help!

I personally like maps with a bit more space -- a2, aerowalk, slip (hi inertia), dm6... they all have an open room or something. I feel claustrophobic in this map...

I think that the biggest problem with this map is that... noone plays it. (yeah i know the answer: that's why you try to improve it). That is, i would gladly help, if i could just find anyone to play with on it. Is there anyone in europe who is open to new things? Report here, or msg me in #quakeworld. It's most likely that one of us will have to host a server though, unless someone puts it on a server...

i think there are so many good maps... and this one is not one of then... sorry guys...

inertia go make a 1on1 version of slip this might rock!!! something new and great... go work please and leave a dead map dead... or make a speemap with monster for speedmaping
