I want unzipping of demos in .tar-files :/

tar is not a compression format, so it definantly doesn't use zip... But, zip + gz support is available in next version. Also a new demo browser that let's you compress/decompress files... And also set an option to record to compress demos as they are recorded into a gz file (that part is not implemented yet).

I'd like to ask for vid_minimize working(/back?/again?) for linux-glx. Since no alt-tabbing is possible, then please just let users minimize by calling a function which will do it. This MUST be possible :K

Hi,

a nice work-around is to run it not in fullscreen-mode but in window-mode with your fullscreen -width and -height settings. Use xwininfo to get quake's window name and tell your window manager not to draw titlebars, borders and shit around the quake-window. What now follows hardly depends on the behaviour of the windowmanager you're using. For example, when I move my cursor to the left or right edge of my screen, I switch to the next left or right desktop, so when I set _windowed_mouse 1 I'm able to switch to whatever desktop I want. That's times faster than ALT+TAB is on windows or something, but as said, it hardly depends on the capabilities of your windowmanager; but it's a broad hint at least. Btw, I'm using VTWM.

i dont think that's possible on xfce4.4 but anyways, i wish for a solution (an universal workaround was to run more x servers).

Yeah, I did that as well for a long time. Actually I'm ok with my solution because I just need it to run fuhquake for league games, but most of the times I'm using fodquake (something like a BETATESTER), bigfoots fork of fuhquake, which supports changing video-modes on the fly and shit.

I want a little .cfg browser in game, wouldn't be so hard to make one? ^^

cfg browser, map browser, server browser are most important imo. In-game help should contain description of all important commands. And it will be nice if menu include option to easily change r_drawflat wallcolor and floorcolor with slidebars (or at least pre-definied colors) instead of manually putting RGB values in to console.

you talk about ffa. if you check the games that are popular; its team based games. in ET everybody plays CTF. its big in q3 too. not to talk about cs. ffa is an outdated playing form compared to teambased play. imo its better with ctf (perhaps mod it to not be so fast) or clan arena. but thats me.

CTF with grappling hook? I think it won't be easy to master the thing. Though I'm sure team-based mode will be more popular for newbies 'coz there they can camp and blame others for loosing -- this way they won't lose interest so fast.

the latest EZQuake test build (1833) is very stable so far and doesn't need a command line.. wiiiiiiii!

the menu is very detailed and has documentation showing for every selected item.. cool
but i hope it will be a little more compact and organised visually in the final version

Be interesting to see how unlagged netcode on instant hit weapons would work in QW. Lots of games have this now.

i would like to see improved, more detailed and in general BETTER version of player.mdl, allowed in ezq and ruleset. you can incorporate it into one of your .pak files dont You? also .png skins would be nice (only for improved player.mdl)

sorry if this was already mentioned.

Maybe i'm wrong but i think multiskin is planned for next eZquake release ? I create some colors skins (based on this new skin. ). As you see, with news skins old models look youngers. I think player model need more animations (i don't know if it's possible or not) like better back race animation. Imo the most important atm is a game menu (who said for nubs like me ?) for attracting more new players...

Implement support for FTE's fast map downloading !

Once you're used to only waiting 10-15 secs for a level to download, going back to the standard qw method is unbearable, where download times are measured in minutes.

As I understand it, this would require support to be built into the server too (MVDSV probably) unless people start using the FTE dedicated server.

Go for ease of use ie. usability and improve the menu system! Just rip the menu layout/structure from cpm and make a working in game server browser&extended functionality for menu based config management, the default one sucks ass !!! =)

just my 2 cents
