Ok, thats it! I want to do a LG tourney, it will be IBC-style, so everybody from any part of the world can participate without worrying with ping issues.

The prize will be around $500 dollar and it will come from my own pocket, but donations are welcome. If you want to donate any amount to give better prizes, its welcome. Althought i dont did this expecthing it, if no one wants to donate, thats completely fine!

I am talking here about $5-$10 dollars, yes, its almost nothing, but if everybody donates a little we will have a lot of money!

The payment will be done via PayPal.

What you think guys? Feedback please!

My vote goes for no as i don't think a bot tourney is a good way to showcase the strengths of QW. I would like a prize tournament, but imo it should be regular 1on1/2on2/4on4. The good thing is of course that you'd get rid of the ping issue. But if a bot tourney is your only choice then it sure is better than nothing! Always nice to see people arrange stuff for the scene, keep up the good work.

Voted no. I don't like povdmm4, I don't like LG-only shit, I want to see true dm4,dm2,dm6,aero action...but getting money involved doesn't bother me. Great idea otherwise! BTW it would make excellent drama (SR FFS!) if there was 500 bucks or more at stake and people would be whining about not getting 13ms and having to settle for 18ms or something. I would pay to see that!!

What about a different format? Like the old "who frags the most Reperbots on dm4 in 10 mins" contest at Methosquake. Could be done with frogbots on another map of course.

It's a good idea to do prize purse tournaments, but it should not be done in something fringe-QW like LG competitoin.

I suggest a duel or 2on2 tournament.

The only good thing about a LG tourney is there are no ping differences. But I don't think its worth putting up a prize purse for.

1º. You will get a lot of cheaters on it;
2º. Be a good shafting player is only 30% (maybe less) of what is needed to be considered a qw good player;
3º. It's boring.

I say yes. Love a good shaft shakedown! Maybe there is a way to introduce false lag on a server
for the lowest LPBs?

IBC is short for "International Bot Challenge" (or something similar) and was a tournament where people played bots instead of real players on povdmm4 i think. That's why he stated that ping factor is a non issue.
