BO5 is an abbreviation of "Best of five" which is a common QuakeWorld match format meaning that the team/player who is able to win 3 maps out of 5 first, is the winner of the match. Best of five match format is more often seen to be used in the playoffs and grand finals of QuakeWorld tournaments and leagues.

For example European Quake League and Nations Quake Rank are known for using this match format for their playoffs and grand final games.
