Communities favorite Molgrum has been working secretly in a secret project for months. Rumours say that the project is a new server modification, alternative to KTX.

KTX has been THE server mod for the past decade. Who knows what Molgrum been up to?

There will be a Launch Event, scheduled for SUNDAY, January 1st 2017 at 16:30CET at Discord and possibly a server near you. Do not miss this!

UPDATE
the mod's name is CHILLING SPREE or cspree.
on the project page you can read:
What is Chilling Spree?

Chilling Spree is a deathmatch mod for Quakeworld that focuses on user friendliness and lots of game modes to try out. It is intended for having fun playing Quakeworld with new twists of the game instead of playing the same three modes all the time.

Chilling Spree features fourteen game modes in total, nine of them which are unique to the mod compared to KTX.

Sounds good. Have you tried it? its running on fr.besmella.com:2901

While on QuakeWorld.nu it's mainly the multiplayer aspects of the game that are in focus, the very impressive Arcane Dimensions singleplayer mod definitely makes it worth the time to rekindle the Quake singleplayer experience with new features, monsters and maps. To get a picture of who the guys behind the seven man strong Arcane Dimensions mod team are, mapcore.org has asked them a few questions.

With QuakeCon having taken place and QHLAN being on the way one would think that the QuakeWorld community couldn't hope for more. However, perhaps due to the fact that it was recently the Quake 20th anniversary, there might be more things coming as the Dreamhack organization recently revealed the BYOC tournaments for Dreamhack Summer 2017. In the list there is, quite surprisingly, a Quake tournament of some sorts with a 15,000SEK prize purse indicated. Not much more is known at the moment and expect an update when more light has been shed on what's to come.

Update: After having checked the matter with Dreamhack the response was unfortunately that it is not yet decided what game in the Quake series will be featured in this particular tournament.

For some time now there have plans for a resurrection of the classic QHLAN events and as some people have been hard at work realizing it, the website is now live with signups and a tournament prize crowdfunding option for people who feel they can spare a dime for people to compete for. It looks like we are in for a real treat.

Due to discussions amongst top duellers in QuakeWorld on the suitability of bravado for top level competition, a small committee have been gathering for some months past with the goal of reproducing the map in a modified form. Ever a good friend to the QW community, Lurq has been kind enough to donate some of his precious time in doing the physical work, and his project is nearing its next stage of completion. A question thus will arrive: Is it ready?

With Thunderdome season 7 fast approaching, however, time for such contemplation is in short supply. It is for this reason that with optimism we announce the Thunderdome Bravado Exhibition Tournament.
