EQL Semi-final - tVS vs cMF
It's time for the battle of the finns, with the last of the Division 1 semi-finals. The underdogs clan MalFunction will meet the current contender for the EQL title
the Viper Squad.

For many this match may already seem settled, at least that is what I hear when asking about it. I sincerely hope that we will get to see some good 4on4 action.

The game is scheduled for TONIGHT at 20:00 CEST -

We will of course host a live stream and do live commentary for the game. We are however still looking for commentators to help out, so if you're interested, don't hesitate to drop me a note.

i hope the commentary will be on mumble this time.
2009-05-17, 17:24
That's a good point. When using ts, the commentators constantly talk over each other because of the inherent audio delay. Using mumble would remove that.
2009-05-17, 18:54
Stev, the delay wouldn't change that - the reason they talk over each other is because they don't know the other person is gonna speak.

But mumble has a game overlay, so when using press to talk, the other commentator will be able to see that their co-commentator wants to talk.

I'm pretty sure the delay contributes to it.

If you don't know he's talking, you could be a second into your sentence before you realise that you've both been talking at the same time, then both stop talking for another couple of seconds to see if the other will continue, and then, hilariously, both might start talking again, only to repeat the cycle until one of them dies of frustration.

It happens often enough when using ts as mm3. Sometimes, if short enough, both sentences are finished before they know the other is talking, so everyone listening gets a big garbled mess of words.
2009-05-17, 19:31
Yeah, you are right, but I don't think the lower delay in mumble will fix it, however the game overlay will
2009-05-17, 20:10
can someone put the new date on the news post?
2009-05-17, 21:02
There is hardly any delay in ts. Imho Topi and Milton tested it when everyone was raving about mumble. There's nothing wrong with ts, we tried mumble and went back to ts pretty quickly. If it aint broke...
2009-05-17, 21:09
There seems to be some inconsistency in TS delay across different servers and configurations, but the delay I've experienced is HUGE; sometimes as much as 3 or 4 seconds between me saying something and hearing it echo back over someone else's microphone.

TS may work just fine for some people, but, for the rest of us, mumble is a godsend.

stop talking about ts and start talking about the game \o/ I think it will end 3-1 to tvs (cmf winning first e1m2, losing the 2nd)

I think Hagge will do commentary
2009-05-18, 08:03
hagge will probably go totally insane from the action and not regain his powers until september

How to turn off , users overlay in game under Mumble ??
2009-05-18, 21:35
Configure > Settings
There should be an overlay tab there. If not, you have to enable "expert config" under the "user interface" tab.

So where are the demos?
