ezQuake + svgalib: vid_mode not affects menu/hud visible area

Solved. See below for information.

Problem description:

Yesterday I downloaded and tried ezquake.svga as a client. After being started, the menu is presented in 320x200 default resolution. If I increase the resolution to a mode presented by vid_listmodes, e.g. vid_mode 12 with 1024x768 pixels, the new resolution is set but the menu area is cropped at 320x200, starting from the upper left corner. That is, if my resolution is set to 1024x768 and visible menu area is 320x200, I am presented with two empty areas, one of 704x768 pixels on the right and, accordingly, an empty area of 320x568  below. Illustrated in ascii art:

====oooo
====oooo
oooooooo
oooooooo

=: Visible menu area
o: Area not covered by menu items

The menu items are placed correctly though. As a consequence, at a resolution of 1024x768 I am not able to see any of them, likewise the hud. What am I doing wrong here?

Regards,

bitfaust

Edit: I "solved" it by supplying the mode at the commandline directly through -mode.
