GL Quad glow

Hi!
Could someone clarify how to control glow of powerups in GL?

1)If you select eyecandy preset quad will have 2 glows:
big white flickering glow and small blue glow.
  Which variables control them?

2) At the moment I have config with r_dynamic 0 and no glow arownd quad.
If I change r_dynamic to 1 blue glow appears.
If set it back to 0 I still can see glow.
   Is it correct behaviour?

3) I play teamplay games qute rarely but when I play I have following problem.
If someone has quad it is very hard to understand if it is enemy or teammate
because of q3 style jelly around him. How to disable that jelly?

Re: GL Quad glow

you can disable the 'jelly' with gl_powerupshells.

i would like to know what's the relevance of r_dynamic for the powerupglow. i get big framehits with dynamic lighting enabled and the quadglow is the only reason for me to keep it enabled.

Re: GL Quad glow

1) r_powerupGlow
gl_flashblend / gl_powerupshells
r_lightflicker

2) IIRC it will kick in when quad is picked up next.

3) gl_flashlend  / gl_powerupshells
You can also use powerup skins:
enemyquadskin
enemypentskin
enemybothskin
teamquadskin
teampentskin
teambothskin

The glow will stay at the quad area, but it won't be updated like it would if r_dynamic is set to 1, and it will be gone when the map is reloaded.

That's because when you turned it on, it got applied to the map.
