If this servers are down permanently it will be quite a blow for the scene. The Danish servers were a good central location for most of western europe and the nordics and were quite often the best servers for playing between countries.

I might investigate VPS if they stay down.

EDIT: VPS are quite expensive in DK

Noooo! Foppa is also usually the best choice for the few of us in NA to play in EU mixes, because getting everyone to go to a UK server won't happen unless it's a tournament and the rules say so Troopers is significantly worse for us than foppa.

There seems to be one server in Denmark online: RPi #1 - Q1Q3 MAPS. How are your pings to it? The admin might set up more ports if the server becomes popular.

I've got a server in France but I shot it down because everyone preferred foppa. I can bring it back up though if people like? Ping rzski.com and let me know if it is worth it.

i just got news from thefoppa.dk admin:
Quote:

Hello

Yes I am very sorry. An unfortunate event surrounding my old job, ended with my server beeing taken down. I have been very busy with reallife stuff due to this same event, and also other stuff. My mail just came up now, thus I am able to respond to this mail.

The qw servers are close to my heart and have high priority in getting stuff online again, and I am working on a solution. I could will get them up again fairly soon, but they will no doubt have worse routing for most, and I dont like that fact.

If you can somehow relay this info to more people who miss the servers, I would appreciate that.

Again sorry for qw servers beeing offline, thank you for your patience, I love you.

/forsberg

so nice email, can't help to feel sorry.

it's a server on raspberry pi hosted by mick, the danish guy who made all those q3 map ports. 1 rpi only supports 1 mvdsv port + 1 qwfwd at a time

If it costs you nothing, can't hurt having a server and a qwfwd there.

Hi Guys,

I've set 2 server ports in Paris, you can test by connecting to rzski.com port 28501 and 2. There is also a qwfwd available at 30k
Let me know if everything is ok and the servers are useful or not please.

Thanks guys. Will do check why fwd doesn't work, I got to run now. I have a strong feeling it is not tcp but udp just like other quake connections (someone pls confirm) so simply my firewall rule to let this traffic onto the server is not working...

Thanks guys, I hope to have fixed the qwfwd just now. Please let me know if that's not the case.

Not sure about qtv - is it very much needed?

qtv is always a good option, lots of great matches were played in dk, so they might move to France now !
Good job faustov, thanks !

Whoah, for me better than before! (Which might mean also for a few other PL guys). Ping as good as it was on wargamez.dk!

Meanwhile - I hope to have added qtv now.
