summer is almost here, and activity is down. Summer vacations for qw. If you have some free time, you are old as me, and you liked the old games, back in 1990ish, you'll love this.

Below i'll list some of the best games of all time, which have something in common: they are all played today, modified by the community, some are total conversions. A bit like Quake, the better ones stay and are played for a looong time.

Here they are:
* Prince of Persia - Loader, new levels, etc etc
* X-Com (UFO Enemy unknown and sequels)
* Sensible Soccer -loader, tons of updates, etc! plus, Amiga version for online play! #sensible @ qnet
* Transport Tycoon - online play, full hd, daily updates! #openttd @qnet

What about you? do you know old games that are still kept by the community or are played today?

never argue with an idiot. they'll bring you back to their level and then beat you with experience.

In the X-COM domain I'd like to point out another project. Check out http://openxcom.org/. This project is similar to the OpenTTD one. I tries to re implement the original engine to work with the original data files. So you can play it on non Windows too. Make sure the project does get some attention! ;-)
