Thanks for a great tournament! It was really refreshing to play and spectate official 2on2 games after all the duel tournaments. Double elimination was nice, but perhaps we could have played one more game the first Sunday. The first Sunday felt rather short and on the other hand the second one rather long. Playing multiple games at the same time would have surely speeded things up, but maybe it was better for the spectators this way .

Thanks to admins for yet another nicely run tournament and congratulations to Phil for unlocking the 8-hour casting achievement.

There are VODs, and there are demos from the first Sunday. I am unsure about the second Sunday... I'll check it out.

Oh god...

My apologies. I made a very good recap and it's still saved on my computer Funny part is that I didn't publish it on qw.nu. I must have been tired :-P

Not sure if there's any point to rewrite it considering that it happened quite a while ago, meh.

Apologies,
Andeh

Do it anyway, for historical purposes - also, you might wanna add the demos here.

I think this was a good system:

Duelmania 2

Group play + playoff A and playoff B.

Then everyone got a minimum of 4 games and no double elimination needed.

Also it was very comprehensible as you have all groups and both playoffs on 1 page.

But it was only tested out once....

Thunderdome is nice with its divisions.

Hello!

I had not seen this post, sorry about that. What happened was that ever since Zingao left the scene, the HoH tournaments were without prizemoney and just another tournament. Although we were very happy with how we organized the tournament, its very core was the fact that it was a CASH-tournament in Quakeworld. That being said however, does not mean the Suddendeath crew won't organize another tournament in the future.

I was very happy with how we streamed the games with commentary and the feedback was great so I still have motivation to organize one-or-two-day tournaments. We will see!

Yours,
Andeh

Juste ask for donations for the prize money, or make a small fee for the inscription, then forbid Rikoll and Milton to play, and it will be perfect !

Quakeworld players and community members are suprisingly unwilling to donate even though most of them have jobs. If a tournament is to come, there most likely will not be a prizepool.

Andeh
