hi

i've had a few months away from mapping, recently started to use vista ultimate,
when i first tried running wc, had a missing d3drm.dll problem, but nih sent me it, and now i can run wc

im using the latest ezquale, and trying to re-compile old maps that have colored lighting, to test if its going to work, after the map has finished compiling
ezquake launches, then it crashes it says just before the pc and screen locks up, sunlight_color is not a feild

all the id maps run fine, even my old maps that havent colored lighting

if anyone can tell me whats going on, it would be great

cheers

pete

Humm, never used Vista 32! Vista 64 has a option for 32bits compatibility. Does Vista 32 has a Windows XP or maybe 2000 compatibility mode for applications? And if it does, did you tried to use it?

Yes, it does (in properties | compatibility from a shortcut or the .exe - you can also change various settings such as desktop compostion (which might help)).

It is a bit of a wierd error - sounds like it is loading an obsolete .exe - try running both programs as admin and/or in xp compatibility mode. If these don't work, spin round on your chair 5 times, jump up and down 3 times, do a voodoo chant and try again ;-)

Just go back to XP, tiddles. Who needs Vista anyway...
