you know what? I took a good look at the gib2 and I decided the model looks pretty good. just make sure it looks like it would be from scrags, a player, and the other monsters who use it. well, the model is the same shape and size as the original, just a bit more modelled detail... plus the extra detail i added... ribs and spine to give it some personal touch... and imo the monsters in quake are no spineless pussies!! ;D oh, and do you mean like it would be able to use the same texture as the original? that would be possible but would have to drop all the extra details... and also, the thought of modelling a seperate gib2 for DM, witch would be a torn armor with maybe one shoulder pad left, spine, half an arm and lots of blood on the texture... how does this idea sound like? It would then be real nice if all weapons would have a slight idle movment, that is if it is possible.... It would be easier to code it in the engine, instead of worrying about adding more frames... indeed, lets leave that to the engine developers, more animation, bigger files, more memory usage. and if they deside to implement it to qw it would be awsome... and i'm sure there will be an option to disable it if someone doesn't like it Edit:oh, just remembered another engine related thing... the md3 gib models, they don't have blood trails... most other models have the trails coded in the engine, right?... same as g_model rotation... correct me if i'm wrong...

i remember that awesome gib model that was like.. an arm or something, from TFDE2 movie could you make several gib variants with different body parts? legs/arms/head/spine/etc? that would be pretty cool. i always wanted to have that nice gib from TFDE2 The problem with this resides with the people who enjoy playing Singleplayer (like me). Like Trickle stated, It looks silly seeing limbs come from monsters such as a Scrag. The original Quake didn't have limbs, and for a good reason. Up to this point in time, I have yet to see some good gib models/skins. All of them either change the originals too much, have the wrong color, are too small, etc... The ones above look the best I've seen yet. Chunky, yet hard to tell exactly what the body parts are. This is perfect for universal gibs coming from anything, Human or Monster. this is a multiplayer pack though, and making it look better is more important than keeping it singleplayer compatible. imo.

Since when was this pack Mutiplayer only? I didn't read that anywhere - at least not from Ruohis... Where does it say that?
All I'm saying is that I have yet to see Gibs that are faithful to the original, which is a bummer.

faithful model pack all the way with a few quakeish personal touches, that's what The Quake Revitalization Project is all about... after that you'll get your extra models when i get ideas/inspiration... rounded ammoboxes, rounded shaft, limb gibs, tf models, weird looking weapons, armors with tits... whatever and i still have a few surprises in my sleeve

<3 armors with tits
Lightning Hunter: well does it really need to say that when the multiplayer models are the only ones being remodeled?

more importantly, it is trivial to update singleplayer spprogs.dat and ktx to support differing gib models if good ones are available :-)
although thinking about it, i don't know why it wouldn't be possible to code engine to generate a gib based on pieces of the exploding mdl and use that in place of specific gib models

Lightning Hunter: well does it really need to say that when the multiplayer models are the only ones being remodeled? The only models not in Multiplayer are the Monsters, and I was under the impression that no one was re-modeling the monsters because they are hard. That doesn't mean this pack absolutely cannot be SP friendly. I don't think we have to worry about this anyway, because Ruohis said he can make both faithful gibs and limbs - so we should all be pleased.

http://www.kolumbus.fi/ruohis/temp/new/suit.rar this is very early in texturing... just so that you can try it out and give some opinions... this one still really needs a lot of work... and if someone wants to try out the gibs that are still in development: http://www.kolumbus.fi/ruohis/temp/new/gibs.rar (gib1, gib3, zombig)

nice shit!
i updated my ruohis model pack (which afaik only works with ezq, which is ironic since ezq doesn't really support md3s)

edit: omg it looks absolutely stunning ingame!

player model first

first i want to learn how to animate properly i may start with something easy, fish or wizard but yeah... lets think about the player after theese models... and just for the note, the texture of the suit sucks bigtime, only the really dark parts, belt, gloves, pads, boots and so on look fairly good

a wizard model would be handy. Alot of servers use it for displaying spectators

make the wizard model into a camera GREAT IDEA!!!! A simple model of a camera (no animation needed) should be much better than the stupid wizard's model. This could be delivered with ktx new versions and for old mods, you can just add the model to it's subfolder with the name of the wizard. https://tinyurl.com/qwbrasil - QuakeFiles

personally i'd rather see 60% opaque ranger head+torso mdl (no arms or legs) floating around

In that case please use proper extensions: http://wiki.quakesrc.org/index.php/DP_ENT_ALPHA ---Where can you see lions? Only in kenya! Come to kenya we've got lions.
