Im new to the qw scene and ive a couple of questions:

1: ive installed nquake (is it ezquake? i dont know difference betweens n/ezquake)
2: which duel maps are played and howto vote them?
3: is there any extern server browser which works with mirc (script plugin or smth )?

Hello, i'll only give a quick reply as i'm at work:

1. ezQuake = client, nQuake = package (or, installer is the right word really) with everything you need to play Quake. nQuake contains the ezQuake client.

2. DM2, DM4, DM6, ZTNDM3 and Aerowalk are the five accepted duel maps in official tournaments. Vote for them by...typing their name!

3. I'm not sure. I think defcon5 made some server plugin for mIRC a while ago. I'm not sure if it's what you're looking for though.

nQuake is a Package containing a configured ezQuake and several eye-candy features, etc...

dm2, dm4, dm6, aerowalk, ztndm3 are the most played 1on1 maps.
you can vote them by just typing the name of the map in the console

ok, thx. now i want to connect to servers but the console says only "connecting to blabla" all the time. i missed smth?

i also typed "connect easy.quakeworld.dk:28501" but doesnt work. console says:

connecting to easy.quakeworld.dk:28501...
connecting to easy.quakeworld.dk:28501...
connecting to easy.quakeworld.dk:28501...
...

Check if you have some firewall that is blocking Quakeworld (ezQuake-gl.exe).

ive disabled win firewall. i dunno whats the problem is. i can connect with q4/3 to servers but not with qw !

there's no qw server at easy.quakeworld.dk:28501 ? :p
try quake.xs4all.nl:27500

still same problem. cant connect

Mybe it has something to do with PAK1.PAK?

EDIT:

i deleted all my port forwarding things in my router and now it works - i can connect to heaven

i put a lot of work into putting together the actual contents of nquake, so i wouldn't just call it an installer.
