Pancakes
25 May 2010 @ 09:20
This is pretty simple. I will tell you how to make them.

Mix
4dl of wheat flour
6 eggs (medium or large)
8dl of milk 1.5% or 3% fat.
some salt.
(Remember the ratio 2:3:4)

melt
25g butter and then add it to the mix.

Simple enough? Here is where most people fail.

Pour the mix into a bowl and put it in the refrigerator over the night.

Next day
Fry some pancakes in a Teflon pan using some butter.

Note
Many noobs think pancakes are unhealthy and will make you fat. Old people might even think it is a desert. Obviously by following this recipe, you are not exactly eating raw-protein. But considering the ingredients this is an ok-ish dish, unless you are on a low-fat diet for some reason (so 80:ies..).

Teflon pan? Thats where most people go wrong. The correct way to fry pancakes is in a Cast iron pan.

Also: Low fat diets are never out of date. As long as the intake of the essential micronutrients are considered a high intake of fat is not necessary.

Why low fat diets are out dated is not because they are bad in theory, but because most people will still feel hungry
#3 se the-interceptor | 25 May 2010 @ 10:11
And in that regard a high protein diet is just as good, or better.

No need to tell me how to do pancakes. I make the best ones in the whole qw community! Be

Is the Crêpe or the American Pancake?!
#8 ns blixem | 26 May 2010 @ 14:30
In my opinion, the pan that you use for making pancakes is crucial. It has to have a superb top layer so that the pancake doesn't keep sticking to it...

I absolutely love pancakes by the way, but I almost never eat them without bacon. Guess it becomes a whole lot more unhealthy in that case?
#9 se the-interceptor | 26 May 2010 @ 14:32
There is nothing unhealthy about bacon itself, no.
#10 se Hooraytio | 26 May 2010 @ 16:12
Call the vegan mafia, i bet they would dispute that statement! D

You only live once so why skip out on the good stuff to eat? (even if it would cut a few minutes of your life)
#11 ns blixem | 26 May 2010 @ 17:14
Ok, maybe unhealthy is not the right word. But would you say eating 2 or 3 pancakes, each with let's say 2 or 3 strips of bacon on it and some syrup, is very wise if you want to be fit and maintain that sixpack I'm not talking about bodybuilding/gaining mass/growing massive and gigantic, but fit like a tennisplayer or swimmer for instance.

In fact, I know very little about food and it all seems so complicated. Any links to good source for information?

It's all about calories. As long as you consume enough protein and all the essential micronutrients you could eat pure sugar and drink olive oil if it pleases you. As long as you maintain your daily calorie balance you will stay in shape.

You might get a heart attack, but it's alright if you're beautiful!
#14 se the-interceptor | 27 May 2010 @ 11:48
You might get an heart attack if you're ugly as well, so don't worry. What's your point though? That fat and sugar will get you an heart attack? If so, WRONG. :>

I eat whatever my body wants. Fruits, fine. Bacon, fine. You want beer + yogurt, mister organism? YOU GOT IT.

The only extra thing I do is work out the way I want to - crazy fast cycling! And now some paintball http://www.youtube.com/user/QuakePhil#grid/user/805C87A1CB56F090
#16 ns blixem | 29 May 2010 @ 00:12
Phil, paintball sucks so hard compared to AirSoft. Have you heard of that? Look it up!! It's awesome...
#17 ns FSrazor | 05 Jun 2010 @ 12:02
I guess it's more about what you put ON the pancake, if you eat with cream, jam and sugar it isnt so healthy anymore
#18 ns FSrazor | 05 Jun 2010 @ 12:03
the best kind of pancake is the ones you make in the oven! with fläsk
