The Quake soundtrack recently popped up as a coming-soon article in the Nine Inch Nail online store. However you will be struggling to play it in your normal CD player as the release is for a vinyl edition of the soundtrack, which sounds like a nice item for the hardcore Quake fans/collectors to get.

The first three games in the Quake series are currently 60% off in the GOG (formerly Good Old Games) store, which may be a good opportunity for anyone who haven't paid their Quake taxes to Shub-Niggurath just yet.

For QuakeWorld in particular it's of interest as the popular nQuake package is based on the Shareware version of the game, leaving players with the deathmatch maps and the first episode of the singleplayer part of Quake. If one should buy the game off of GOG (or Steam etc) then one can copy pak1.pak into /nquake/id1/ for a complete version of the game.

xazqe reports in the forum that he has set up a couple of free for all servers as a nod to the long gone classic eDome servers. eDome traditionally had one small server with a mixed map rotation and a larger server with 16 players battling it out on death32c and this is clearly an attempt to rekindle that spirit.

There has been quite a bit of 4on4 activity in form of mix games after Qhlan, but the scene hasn't seen almost any official 4on4 games since the last EQL season. To fix that we're launching a new 4on4 ladder style league together with Dev right about now: enter Quakeworld 4on4 Ladder Tournament Season 1.

Following his recent QHLAN victory, the current QuakeWorld 1on1 champion has decided to start streaming his magic straight into people's living rooms. The stream description gives some insight on what to expect:

Quote:
I've been playing Quakeworld for almost 20 years now and thought that it might be interesting for others to see how I play. I play mostly 2on2 and 4on4 but might occasionally play a duel or two or some FFA. I might also analyze some demos of mine to give people some insight to the tactics and strategy of QW teamplay.
